About Affinity Acupuncture in Nashville
Affinity Acupuncture opened in Nashville in January of 2012, and has since established itself as one of the best Nashville acupuncture clinics specializing in peripheral neuropathy, chronic pain, fertility, drop foot, postherpetic neuralgia treatment, and fibromyalgia. We provide a welcoming environment, open and honest dialogue, expertise in treatment areas, and a commitment to application of best practices and techniques.
Our clients come to us for a variety of reasons. They’ve heard great things about acupuncture treatment and want to try it for themselves. They want to avoid surgery or pills for pain relief. They’ve tried everything else, and nothing has worked.
We use a variety of techniques including:
- Acupuncture
- Dry Needling
- Fertility Acupuncture Therapy
- FSM Therapy
- Ozone Therapy
- Electro Acupuncture
Our treatments are minimally invasive because the cure shouldn’t be worse than the disease. And we will keep working with you to customize a treatment plan and approach that works best for you and your needs. We just ask that you keep an open mind and an open line of dialogue.

William Alexander, L.Ac.
When William was in his twenties, he saw a video where a patient was anesthetized during open-heart surgery with acupuncture needles. He was fascinated by the idea that in the right hands, needles could heal, and knew he wanted to study acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
He moved to Chicago where he received his Master’s of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Bachelor’s in Nutrition at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, interning at the largest acupuncture and Oriental Medicine free clinic in the country. While living in Chicago he also met and married his wife, Cassie. They relocated to Nashville and opened the clinic in January 2012 – then welcomed twins later that year.
William is one of the few practitioners in Tennessee with advanced training in orthopedic acupuncture and dry needling. Dedicated to continuously evolving his practice, William has also earned the title of a Preferred Provider for the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture Protocol and completed studies in Dr. Tan’s Balance Method, Dr. Zhu’s Scalp Acupuncture Masterclass Series (focusing on stroke and pain management foundations), and Master Tung Acupuncture with Brad Whisnant. He is planning a future trip to China to continue additional fields of study.
William has held positions as the Treasurer for the Tennessee Acupuncture Council, and a board member of the American Society of Acupuncture’s Insurance Committee. He has also proposed bills to the state in order to protect the safety and integrity of the practice of acupuncture.
When William is not working, he spends time with his wife, kids, and pets; is an avid gardener; and enjoys hiking and archery. He also loves to travel and visit with family and friends from his prior homes in Union County, KY and Chattanooga, TN (We Are McCallie).
