“Great people. William and Cassie are like friends. They are very accommodating. They have a really nice atmosphere and waiting rooms and they have done more for my back pain in the last 6 months than pain clinics have done in the last 3 years. ”

“William helped me through a very difficult time from pain due to a herniated disk in my neck. I was very skeptical at first but am so very glad that I tried and that he was my acupuncturist. His professionalism matches his compassion wholeheartedly. If you haven’t given acupuncture a try I highly recommend William Alexander at Affinity Acupuncture. Thank you for everything you do.”
– Jason W

“As a Vet, it is hard to find relief for back pain and numbness in leg. Here I feel like attention is accurately focused on the location of YOUR pain. Furthermore, my face was slowly recovering after nearly 2 years due to Bell’s [Palsy], their method is pin point (no pun intended) to stimulate weakness. Well rounded service, thank you.”
– Will

“Been dealing with a bad back (all lumbar disks compressed) for nearly a month and after one visit my back is nearly pain free… a huge improvement from before the treatment. William was quick, professional, and kind. I’m looking forward to getting my neck and other problem areas resolved as well!”
– Mitch D

“I have been a client at Affinity for almost two years and offer my highest recommendation. William is the best and has helped me with everything I have thrown at him. He listens to his clients and provides the best and most effective treatment options available to address their needs. Each time he introduces me to a new experience, I learn to respect him more. Acupuncture can be scary to a novice, but it is truly amazing medicine and has changed my life.” – Dena F

Acupuncture FAQs

FAQs
What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine used in the world today, dating back over 2,000 years (some even speculate over 4,000 years). It is a gentle, low risk practice that applies hair-thin needles to specific points in the body, stimulating the body’s own healing ability.

What is Dry Needling?

Dry Needling is an advanced needling skill or technique limited to the treatment of myofascial pain, using a single use, single insertion, sterile filiform needle (without the use of heat, cold, or any other added modality or medication), that is inserted into the skin or underlying tissues to stimulate trigger points.  Dry needling does not include the stimulation of auricular points, utilization of distal points or non-local points, needle retention, application of retained electric stimulation leads, or the teaching or application of other acupuncture theory.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions needed varies based on the individual. Many clients experience relief during their first session, and return at regular intervals for “maintenance” sessions. For some, sustained relief comes with frequent visits in the beginning, then stretching out the time between sessions once stability is achieved. Following a personal and confidential consultation, your acupuncturist will create a customized plan to assist in achieving your personal healthcare goals.

What does it treat?

Acupuncture is effective as a wellness and preventive medicine, and for both acute and chronic conditions. Individuals seek out acupuncture and Oriental medicine for many reasons. Current research shows evidence of acupuncture decreasing pain, reducing inflammation, calming nerves, aiding digestion, improving sleep, preventing nausea, strengthening the immune system and much more.
